For buddy pairs, built with buddy pairs

Buddy Forever was made to bring the scattered plans of dental students who work in pairs during their clinical years into one place.

The story

In the clinical years every procedure needs a buddy at your side, so two separate timetables (classes, labs, exams, clinic hours) must be free at the same time. Most of the time that gets sorted out across WhatsApp chats, notebooks and spreadsheets; sessions are wasted and quotas slip to the end of term.

Buddy Forever was started by Veli YILMAZ. The idea comes from what students struggle with: a shared calendar, appointments your buddy approves, one plan per patient and a clear progress view for every class.

The preset for Altınbaş University's Faculty of Dentistry was built from the faculty's patient quota document. The pilot will run at Altınbaş in spring 2027. For now the app is in a closed beta and is shaped by students' feedback.

Our principles

  • Pair first

Every screen answers "what do we do next?" as much as "what do I do?".

  • Presets over setup

Pick your school and your classes, quotas and point rules fill in for you. No starting from scratch.

  • Gentle, not childish

Soft pink colours, short friendly tips and nothing you do not need.

  • Privacy by default

A patient is only a nickname you make up. Nothing is shared beyond the two of you.

  • Codes, not links

Messages the app sends contain codes, never links to click.

What is next?

We do not promise dates; we tell you the order. What we learn in the pilot may change it.

  1. Now

    Closed beta

    • Invited students try the app and give feedback.
    • The shared calendar, buddy pairing, appointment approval, patient tracking and progress features work.
  2. Spring 2027

    Pilot at Altınbaş

    • About four weeks of real use by buddy pairs at Altınbaş.
    • We do not open to everyone before the pilot is done.
  3. After the pilot

    Public version

    • Approved presets for more faculties, with students who help build them.
    • Live calendar updates, calendar file import and export, pairing by QR code.
    • Legal review: a lawyer experienced in KVKK will go through the texts.
  4. Later

    More

    • New notification channels, web push first.
    • Paid Buddy Plus, once payments are ready.
    • A phone app and more schools.

We also have one open question: do faculties allow students to keep nickname-only patient plans in a personal app? We plan to ask faculties about it.
