Buddy pairing
Pair with your buddy in minutes
There are two ways: send a link and pair instantly, or share your short code and wait for approval. Either way you can copy your buddy's setup in one tap.
In practice
How it works
-
Invite link: instant pairing
“Invite my buddy” creates a single-use link that is valid for 48 hours. You send it yourself, from your own WhatsApp, your email app or by copying it. The moment the person who opens it signs up, the pairing is active; if they already have an account, it pairs as soon as they open it.
- Only the person you sent the long random link to knows it, so it counts as your approval
- You can revoke it at any time
- The app never sends a link on your behalf
-
Pairing code: you approve
Every student has a six-character code (no look-alikes such as 0/O or 1/I) that you can regenerate. When your buddy types it you get “Elif entered your code. Approve as your buddy?”. Until you approve, nobody can see your calendar or your patients. If you decline, the connection is removed.
Two ways, two levels of trust
- Invite link
- Instant · 48 hours · single use
- Pairing code
- When you approve · valid until regenerated
A short code can be overheard or guessed, so it only creates a request.
-
Copy your buddy's setup
If your buddy has finished setup you see “Use Elif's setup?”: school, year, classes and targets, clinic hours. You look over each group, edit what you like and approve with one button. The school, classes and clinic-hours steps of setup are skipped. The copy is a snapshot of that moment, not a live link.
- Copied: school, year, classes, targets, clinic hours, language
- Never copied: patients, points, personal events, notification settings
- If your class group differs you can untick the lecture and lab copy
-
A temporary assistant for one session
If your buddy isn't free, you can invite any registered student as assistant for a single appointment by typing their code. Once they accept they see only that appointment and get its reminders; your calendar and your other patients stay closed.
-
Ending a pairing
You have one buddy at a time. The app asks before ending a pairing, and past appointments stay readable to both of you. Upcoming visits where your former buddy would assist go back to Draft and the operator is told. The other side is also told the pairing ended.
How this helps
-
- Joining by invite takes only a few taps.
-
- You don't re-enter your buddy's setup by hand.
-
- A code only creates a request: nobody sees anything until you approve.
-
- A temporary assistant keeps a session from going to waste when your buddy isn't free.
The other parts
The five parts are connected: change one and the others follow.
-
Shared calendar
Sessions you're both free
-
Patient tracking
From oral diagnosis to finished
-
Appointment approval
You propose, your buddy approves
-
Quotas and progress
A ring and a pace for every class
