Patient tracking
Every patient in one record: oral diagnosis to signature
Add a patient by nickname, record the oral diagnosis and lay out the treatment plan by tooth number. Finished work turns into points.
In practice
How it works
-
Nickname only
There is no field for a patient's name, initials, file number or phone. A made-up nickname like “Sunflower”, an age range, a few tags (“anxious”, “prefers mornings”) and notes are enough. The notes field carries the reminder too: don't write the patient's name, file number or phone.
- Your buddy sees a patient only while assisting on a live appointment
- Admins never see patient records
-
The oral diagnosis gate
You can't propose a treatment appointment until the oral diagnosis is recorded. A new patient starts as “Waiting for OD”; you set up an OD appointment and, after the visit, enter the date, a summary of the findings and the treatment plan. The status becomes “OD done”, then “In treatment”, and finally Finished, Referred or Dropped.
-
A treatment plan by tooth number
Every plan item is either picked from a list of classes and treatments (its points come pre-filled) or is a custom operation you write yourself, marked with a pencil icon. You attach an item to a tooth by FDI number (#11 to #48). You can add items after the OD whenever you like.
Expected points
- #36 root canal
- Endodontics · 3 canals
- #46 Class II composite
- Restorative · 3 points
- #48 extraction
- Surgery · 1 procedure
The unit follows the class's rules: a three-canal root canal counts as 3 canals. If your instructor gives a different value, you edit the item's points.
-
Do it, mark it, get the points
You can mark one operation “Done” on its own. Or tap “Mark patient finished” and review every open item on a single sheet; points are added only for the items you confirm. For work that spans several visits you can enter partial points by hand.
-
The Signed tick
When your instructor signs on paper you tick “Signed” on the item, one at a time or in bulk. The progress screen shows Done and Signed totals separately. Buddy Forever doesn't replace the official patient file; it is a personal planning tool.
How this helps
-
- Patients and plans live in one place, not in a notebook.
-
- You see the expected points before the appointment.
-
- Because you keep no real identifiers, the risk is smaller too.
-
- You follow the signature on paper in the app as well.
The other parts
The five parts are connected: change one and the others follow.
