How it works

From an invite request to your first shared session

Getting started with Buddy Forever takes eight steps. Most of them take care of themselves once you copy your buddy's setup.

Step by step

The app is a closed beta and opens by invitation. The journey goes like this:

  1. Request an invite

Fill in the invite form: email, first name, school and year are enough. Our team sends you the beta invite code themselves; the app doesn't email on your behalf.

    Request an invite
  2. Sign up with the beta code

Open your account with an email, a password and your beta code. The form has one reminder that is always visible: use made-up nicknames for patients, never real names, initials, file numbers or phone numbers.

  3. The eight-step setup

Each screen asks one question, with a progress bar on top. You pick your school from 104 dentistry faculties; at a school with a ready-made preset your classes and quotas arrive filled in, otherwise you add your own classes.

    The eight setup steps

    1. Your name, avatar and language (Turkish or English)
    2. Buddy: an invite link, a pairing code, or skip for now
    3. School: one of 104 faculties; with no preset yet you add your own classes
    4. Year of study: the preset brings that year's classes
    5. Classes: tick or remove, adjust targets, write your own with “Add class”
    6. Clinic hours: day, time and session length (you can skip this)
    7. Got a voucher? Enter a Buddy Plus voucher (you can skip this)
    8. Summary and finish

If your buddy has finished setup, a “Use Elif's setup?” screen replaces steps 3 to 6. Term dates are placeholders until the faculty's calendar is confirmed.

  4. Pair with your buddy

Send a single-use link valid for 48 hours: you pair as soon as your buddy joins through it. Or share your short pairing code and pair once you approve. If your buddy has finished setup you copy their settings in one tap.

  5. Add your lectures and labs

You enter lectures and labs by weekday, starting from the first day of term. You add clinic hours under “My clinic hours”. The sessions you're both free begin to glow.

    Shared calendar
  6. Add patients and the oral diagnosis

Add a patient by nickname, set up the oral-diagnosis appointment and, after the visit, record the findings and a treatment plan by tooth number. Expected points show from the plan.

    Patient tracking
  7. Propose appointments

Tap a glowing session, pick the patient and the work, make your buddy the assistant and propose. Your buddy approves, declines or suggests another time from their inbox.

  8. Complete visits, watch your progress

Once the appointment has started, mark it “Completed” and tick the work done: the points go to the class and the ring fills. When your instructor signs on paper you tick “Signed”.

A week with Buddy Forever

Ayşe and Elif's week

Ayşe and Elif are fourth-year buddies. Here's how they spend one week with Buddy Forever.

This is an example: the people and patients are made up.

  1. Monday

    A free session glows

Both have entered their lectures and clinic hours. The calendar shows that Wednesday 09:00 Endodontics is free for both of them: the session glows softly.

  2. Tuesday

    Ayşe sends the proposal

Ayşe taps the glowing session, picks her patient Sunflower, takes #36's root canal from her plan, chooses Elif as assistant and taps “Propose”.

  3. Tuesday evening

    Elif approves

The proposal lands in Elif's inbox. She taps Approve; the session turns solid on both calendars and reminders are set.

  4. Wednesday

    The visit and the points

In the same session Elif wants to see her own patient too: she books a separate appointment with a temporary assistant and ticks “I have a unit”. Once the appointment has started Ayşe marks it “Completed” and ticks the root canal; the Endodontics ring fills.

  5. Thursday

    A move request

Another patient, Tulip, can't come. On the approved appointment Ayşe taps “Request change” and picks Thursday 11:00. Until Elif approves, the appointment stays where it is; once she does, it moves on both calendars.

  6. Friday

    The signature

When her instructor signs on paper, Ayşe ticks “Signed” on the item. The progress screen shows Done and Signed totals separately.

What if Elif declines?

On Tuesday evening Elif can suggest a new time such as “My lab ran over, 13:00 works”. Ayşe accepts the counter-proposal in one tap.

Your turn
